Description:

CDWinder is a cataloging software for almost everything that spins -harddisks, CD's, DVD's, ZIP's... CDWinder is cross-platform (with CDFinder for the Mac), small, fast, powerful and runs in (heterogeneous) networks. Different media types are supported to catalog meta data as well.

CDWinder reads the contents of archive files (ZIP, RAR, TAR, CAB), the tags of MP3 and AAC files, the dimensions and color depth of images (JPEG, BMP, TIFF) and more. And it will query freedb to accurately catalog the contents of audio CDs.

I'm an avid photographer, and keep track of my life by picturing it. And I keep track of my collection of thousands of photos by using CDWinder ! It stores a thumbnail for every photo, and knows all the comments and keywords I assigned to each of them. And I can even use it to geotag my pictures - and find them by proximity... CDWinder even keeps track of all the videos I shoot with my camera. It knows a lot of codecs, and has video thumbnails, too ! That way I know right away which of them is the one I'm looking for. As a bonus, it will even help me sift through my MP3 collection, knowing every song, its lyrics and its coverart... and all of that can be found again really easily, too. It's so cool to finally have an overview of all my collections. I have no idea how I got by without it.... : )
